Al Paton – Owner
Welcome to Fix My Djembe!
I’m Al, and I’ve been passionately playing the djembe since 1999. My journey began in Cape Town, South Africa, where I worked with the renowned Drum Cafe, performing and teaching the art of drumming across the country.
This experience ignited my love for the djembe and its rich cultural heritage.
A Year of Deep-Dive Repairs
While I first ventured into djembe repair back in 2000, it’s been over the past year or two that I’ve truly immersed myself in this craft.
I’ve dedicated countless hours to mastering the art of fixing djembes, ensuring that each drum is restored to its full potential.
Capturing the Craft
In addition to repairs, I have a passion for photography and film. I’ve combined these interests to create stunning images and videos showcasing my djembe work.
Documenting my repair process has allowed me to share my journey with you and highlight the beauty of these incredible instruments.
Quality Products and Courses
At Fix My Djembe, we’re committed to providing you with high-quality products that enhance your djembe experience.
I’ve developed a range of tools and accessories tailored for djembe players.
