A Djembe Fid is an secret tool we've discovered for working with rope.
What Is It? A very large blunt needle. The needle is designed to be connected to 4mm rope, making a large needle and thread. The needle helps you get the rope into and out of all the tight spaces on your drum.
How Does It Work? One end has a hole with a thread inside. You connect the rope by shaping and melting it, then pushing it in to the hole and letting it cool. It then sets in the shape of the thread, and forms a surprisingly strong bond. Honestly, I was shocked at how strong the connection is.
When Do You Use It? For putting new rope on the drum. When you're threading crown ring rope on your djembe. It makes the rope work quicker and easier. And they are soooo fun to use.

NOTE: This is the 4mm version is for connecting to 4mm rope. 4mm rope is usually used for threading rope around the rings. For threading vertical rope, you will need the 5mm fid.
